Message I just thought you need it reiterated. But the other members are correct, you need to go back to Z1 and find some resolution. Each engine JDM/USDM might have an "as is" tag but the labor and other new parts should have at least one year warranty that is the law (at least in Texas). And if they insist that you are "S.O.L", then your recourse would be to file a report to the Attorney General because that is just wrong.

Worst case scenerio is that you are stucked with that engine, but it is not the end of the world. If you can open the block and check each pistons, rings, rods, and crank make sure none of them are locked due to inactivity. And that should not cost you any money unless there are some problems with the mechanical components. Block rebuilds, e.g., boring, redecking, honing, and assembling should cost $600 (NHRA certified machine shop/Houston, Texas). pistons/rings, conrods, and balance crank should cost you roughly $4000 labor included. Ultimately, these things should keep you on the road for more than 10 years. Note: Choose your shop wisely. Unfortunately, these things happen to good people. I hope everything works out for you.
